~Words of Wisdom~

This page is dedicated to those of like mind and spirit whose wisdom I cherish and apply in my everyday life....Love is the Law: Merlin

"People say if you are a different religion it is hard to get along. Utter rubbish. I am friends with Father Bob Bailey, Bill Bean, Reverend Tim Shaw (Catholic, Christian and Spiritualist) as well as many pagans like Eilfie Music and so many other faiths....the TRUTH is, people want to use our differences to stay stupid and not see we all are vital to making this crazy place unique. How's THAT for a Priest from the Church of Satan? Please share if you agree....maybe we can teach others something". - Corvis Nocturnum

Arthur C. Clarkes Three Laws

1) When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.

2)The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

3)Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

-Arthur C. Clarke, Profiles of the Future (1962)

"I stand here on the summit of the mountain. I lift my head and I spread my arms. This, my body and spirit, this is the end of the quest. I wished to know the meaning of things. I am the meaning. I wished to find a warrant for being. I need no warrant for being, and no word of sanction upon my being. I am the warrant and the sanction. It is my eyes which see, and the sight of my eyes grants beauty to the earth. It is my ears which hear, and the hearing of my ears gives it's song to the world. It is my mind which thinks, and the judgment of my mind is the only searchlight that can find the truth. It is my will which chooses, and the choice of my will is the only edict I must respect. Many words have been granted me, and some are wise, and some are false, but only three are holy: "I will it!" Whatever road I take, the guiding star is within me; the guiding star and the loadstone which point the way. They point in but one direction. They point to me. I know not if this earth on which I stand is the core of the universe or if it is but a speck of dust lost in eternity. I know not and I care not. For I know what happiness is possible to me on earth. And my happiness needs no higher aim to vindicate it. My happiness is not the means to an end. It is the end. It is it's own goal. It is it's own purpose. Neither am I the means to any end others may wish to accomplish. I am not a tool for their use. I am not a servant of their needs. I am not a bandage for their wounds. I am not a sacrifice on their alters". -Ayn Rand

"And do you know what "the world" is to me? Shall I show it to you in my mirror? This world: a monster of energy, without beginning, without end; a firm, iron magnitude of force that does not grow bigger or smaller, that does not expend itself but only transforms itself; as a whole, of unalterable size, a household without expenses or losses, but likewise without increase or income; enclosed by "nothingness" as by a boundary; not something blurry or wasted, not something endlessly extended, but set in a definite space as a definite force, and not a space that might be "empty" here or there, but rather a force throughout, as a play of forces and waves of forces, at the same time one and many, increasing here and at the same time decreasing there; a sea of forces flowing and rushing together, eternally changing, eternally flooding back, with tremendous years of recurrence, with an ebb and a flood of its forms; out of the simplest forms striving toward the most complex, out of the stillest, most rigid, coldest forms toward the hottest, most turbulent, most self-contradictory, and then again returning home to the simple out of this abundance, out of the play of contradictions back to the joy of concord, still affirming itself of this uniformity of its courses and its years, blessing itself as that which must return eternally, as a becoming that knows no satiety, no disgust, no weariness: this, my Dionisian world of the eternally self-creating, the eternally self-destroying, this mystery void of the twofold voluptuous delight, my "beyond good and evil", without goal, unless the joy of circle is itself a goal; without will, unless the ring feels good will toward itself-do you want a name for this world? A solution for all its riddles? A light for you, too, you best-concealed, strongest, most intrepid, most midnightly men? - This world is the will to power-and nothing besides! And you yourselves are also this will to power-and nothing besides"! -Nietzsche

"And now I see the face of god, and I raise this god over the earth, this god whom men have sought since men came into being, this god who will grant them joy and peace and pride. This god, this one word: "I." - Ayn Rand

"No. No different. Only different in your mind. You must un-learn what you have learned" -Yoda

"I'm for whatever gets you through the night be it prayer, pills, or a bottle of Jack Daniels". -Frank Sinatra

"The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating... you finish off as an orgasm." -George Carlin

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship. -Yoda

"The Bible is not my book and Christianity is not my religion" -Abraham Lincoln

"God is, as it were the sewer into which all contradictions flow" -Gerg Wilhelm Fredrich Hegel (1770-1831) Lectures on the History of Philosophy

"There is nothing more terrifying than ignorance in action" -Paul Jose Goebbels

"The Gods are but names for the forces of Nature themselves" -Aleister Crowley

"A God of love, a God of wrath, a God of jealousy, a God of bigotry, a God of vulgar tirades, a God of cheating and lying -- yes, the Christian God is given all of these characteristics, and isn't it a wretched mess to be offered to men in this twentieth century? The beginning of wisdom, the beginning of humanism, the beginning of progress is the rejection of this absurd, extravagantly impossible myth of a God" -E. Haldeman-Julius (1889-1951) The meaning of atheism

The Wisdom of Shawn Poirier R.I.P

I would like to meet those who apply their witchery to further themselves in the REAL WORLD. IF witchcraft is a nature religion then the primary laws of nature must hold true above all else. So the first law of witchcraft must be, logically thinking, The Strong survive and the second law of witchcraft as in nature must be Life must consume life in order to live. This not only contradicts the fabled the wiccan rede but renders it null and void completely. This rede, in my opinion, results from left over Christian constructs that those who join witchcraft carry with them. The whole idea is of the fabled wiccan rede is impractical and proves itself flawed when applied to real life situations in the mundane world. True witchcraft is a craft that involves creating magic, using cunning, bending rules, learning from the past, seizing the present and forging the future, sometimes it even involves meddling in the affairs of other peoples lives. Do what thy will harm none is a JOKE for it is contrary to the laws of nature itself. Bottom line here, know thyself, to thine own self be true. Salem has changed for good! The Fluffy Bunny Slipper Brigade has been hunted and eaten by witches! Blessings from the Witch City- Salem MA. AND REMEMBER NOT ALL WITCHES ARE WICCAN!!!

THIS IS A NOTE TO THOSE WHO ARE TRAINING IN THE MAGICAL ARTS.... Training in the arts of magic is to be done carefully. KNOW that Magic gives graciously and takes mercilessly. I have seen many,in Salem, come and go over the years. Those with promise and the real stuff of magic have gone on to lead wonderful magic filled life's in the REAL WORLD. The real world is the score card and testing ground to gauge a real witch's power. If the witch's life is fulfilled with a self centered current of bounty, love, health and abundance the witch's magic prove effective and he is benefit to those around around him! ( Note: There is a big difference between being self centered and selfish... you figure this out) Others unfortunately, whither away, growing progressively bitter about what the hand of fate has dealt them. They loose their spark and fall into a spiritual landscape of pipe dreams. They will never push themselves beyond what is comfortable and become experts in dealing out the cards of blame excuses and enablements. Eventually these poor souls will turn on those who trying to help them. Magical lesson number 1: Never help anyone who has over time, consistently proven himself to be a failure. They will only bite your hand for trying to feed them. They are psychic ingrates and should have a steak driven through their hearts. In other words, never try to teach a pig to sing, it only serves to waste the teacher's time, and annoy the pig. Witches are elitists. As in the fine arts, not everyone is gifted with the ability to weave magic. All men are not

WHO AND WHAT WE REALLY ARE...THE AUTUMN PEOPLE "Beware the autumn people for some, autumn comes early, stays late, through life, where October follows September and November touches October again.Where do we come from? The dust. Where do we go? The grave. Does blood stir our veins? No, the night wind. What ticks in our head? The worm. What speaks through our mouth? The toad. What sees from our eye? The snake. What hears with our ear? The abyss between the stars. We sift the human storm for souls, eat flesh of reason, fill tombs with sinners. We frenzy forth. In gusts we beetle-scurry, creep, thread, filter, motion, make all moons sullen, and surely cloud all clear-run waters. The spider-web hears us, trembles breaks. We are such people here. the autumn people. Beware of US"

"Death will finally strike catching you only to give you his fatal kiss while enfolding you in bone arms forever. While Death fascinates us, whether we would like to admit or not, he is our final destination. Death is the final leveler of all our beauty, achievements, and the ultimate test of our individual earthly lives. The proof as to whether our lives have been lived greatly or not, is fully depended on how our memory is revered after our body turns to ash! If one embraces death's gifts while living life to the fullest one will begin see and appreciate the beauty and life within all things. The dead surround us always and whisper their secrets to those who can listen". -Shawn Poirier
